Last month I finished my story; it took me about a year to write. I was on vacation when I completed it, and then proceeded to start a new story. It's not as enticing as the last one yet, but I'm hoping to find another story I can really go with as I wait to pull the completed one out in 9 months or so.
Happy Writing!

Harry Potter
I know tons of people who have a strong pro or con opinion on the Harry Potter book series, and a few who don't have an opinion either way. But I have now borrowed these books from my brother, and I LOVE them! The first two are not that well written, IMO, but the overall storyline is excellent. Her writing steadily improves in the third book, and the fourth one, which I just finished, is outstanding. I now look forward to continue the series, which my brother tells me are just amazing. I am so glad I was finally able to get to read these books I've heard so many things about!
Good story + Good writing = Excellent book

Story Progress
My goal was to finish my story by today, New Years, but that didn't happen. I am almost finished. I guess my new goal is to finish it ASAP, with the end of January being the very last date and my needing to have it finished writing, and typed by then. I think (and hope) I'll have it finished before then, though the ending is taking longer than I expected (hence it not being finished by today).
It will be as long as a young adult novel, but it is the first draft (it's the one I started in April, don't remember if I posted about that here or not. The first one I am still in research stage, that I started in January, and have just now in the last couple weeks looked at it again). I do not have a title. I may post the synopsis after it is complete. I will have to do other drafts if I want to get it published; my goal is to have it be a SUPER story before I even pursue that. But I think the story is good, and I think it is interesting enough to sell.

I found out a secret
So I know I've been gone soooo long! And I didn't mean to, but anyways, tonight I found out a secret!!
I am not a spy (although like anyone would ever say they actually were), but I found out Ally Carter's REAL name!! Could be old news, but I know it wasn't there last I checked wiki.
And then I found her facebook. But there's not much public info, as expected.
I'm still excited, even if it's old news.
I kind of created my own character, though, and she has both the name Ally and her REAL name, even though I totally didn't know at the time! Wow! That was kind of funny, though very ironic.

My room's a mess
I'm just gonna start blogging about whatever I feel like, though I still might do reviews and will definitely keep updated on any stories I write! I did start another one, and I have just written even when I know it's really bad. So if this ever gets past first draft, I will have a LOT of re-writing to do!
So, on to my topic...
Right now my bedroom is a disaster area! I am getting new furniture, but it hasn't arrived yet, and my sister got my old dresser with mirror, so right now I am using the guest bedroom dresser (which was my sister's old one) for mine. Which is hard because I don't have a mirror in my room and I like to get ready in my room, not the bathroom or even another room. And I am going through all my stuff (with the hopes of getting rid of some stuff) and my floor, bed, and everything is just a mess! I think I have before pictures somewhere, but right now I want my room to be neat again before I post them!

The Boyfriend List
Note: Yesterday I typed a post, but the stupid computer I was on completely lost it! I was too mad to type it again. So here it is, providing the computer works with me this time.
Book Review on The Boyfriend List by E. Lockhart
Summary (courtesy of barnesandnoble.com):Ruby Oliver is 15 and has a shrink. She knows it’s unusual, but give her a break—she’s had a rough 10 days. In the past 10 days she:
lost her boyfriend (#13 on the list),
lost her best friend (Kim),
lost all her other friends (Nora, Cricket),
did something suspicious with a boy (#10),
did something advanced with a boy (#15),
had an argument with a boy (#14),
drank her first beer (someone handed it to her),
got caught by her mom (ag!),
had a panic attack (scary),
lost a lacrosse game (she’s the goalie),
failed a math test (she’ll make it up),
hurt Meghan’s feelings (even though they aren’t really friends),
became a social outcast (no one to sit with at lunch)
and had graffiti written about her in the girls’ bathroom (who knows what was in the boys’!?!).
But don’t worry—Ruby lives to tell the tale. And make more lists.
The Good: I honestly only picked this book up because Ally Carter recommended it. And it was good, and really well written. It wasn't as adventurous as Ally's books, but it dealt with real-life situations in a realistic way (I generally don't like books that are not realistic). Great story, the above summarizes it so well.
The Bad: No bad, really. I might've changed a few things had I written it, but then it wouldn't be the same story, so it really isn't relevant.
Have you read this book? If so, did you like it?

Book Review: Story of a Girl
So I hate the official book reviews they made us do in school, but since my own story is, uh, on hiatus until farther notice (I am actually still in the research stage, apparently, as I keep getting stuck), I will review books (the ones I finish reading) on this site. Just with my opinion, nothing formal. So the first book is...
Story of a Girl by Sara Zarr
Synopsis (courtesy of barnesandnoble.com): When she is caught in the backseat of a car with her older brother's best friend - Deanna Lambert's teenage life is changed forever. Struggling to overcome the lasting repercussions and the stifling role of "school slut," she longs to escape a life defined by her past.
The Good: This is a very well-written story (though not as good as Ally Carter's books), and surprisingly redeeming. I wasn't sure I'd like it but decided to read it anyways, and it kept getting better and better. Deanna's family is just really screwed up and it makes for sad but realistic reading, but I liked the ending.
The Bad: Not too much "bad" in this book. I will warn that there's quite a bit of language, but I found the characters to be relatable.
note: apparently this blog does not recognize "relatable", although dictionary.com does. Why is this adjective coming up as if it's misspelled??
